East Africa School of Theology (EAST) in Gulu was founded in 2003 to serve the theological education needs of Northern Uganda, a region that had been devastated by the LRA insurgency. EAST has played a vital role in rebuilding spiritual leadership capacity in the post-conflict Acholi region.
Offering Certificate and Diploma programmes, EAST trains pastors, evangelists, and church workers to serve communities still healing from trauma. The school has a strong emphasis on pastoral counselling, reconciliation, and community transformation alongside standard Biblical and theological training.

Our programmes meet international standards with experienced faculty, a well-stocked theological library, and research opportunities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
We send graduates into churches, mission fields, schools, hospitals, and government — equipping them to be salt and light in every sphere of Ugandan society.
