Shalom Prayer Group is ministry that was founded by pastor Isaac Mirimu Esau in 2020 when God put a burden on his heart to build an alter at home for intercession and prayers and God gave him scripture in the book of Judges 6:24 and that's how he began Key insights about this scripture include:
Meaning of Jehovah Shalom: This name reveals that peace is not merely something God gives but is intrinsic to His characterβHe IS peace itself.
Gideon's Context: Gideon built the altar after a divine encounter where he feared for his life. God reassured him, saying, "Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die".
Preparation for Battle: This name was given just before Gideon was called to lead Israel into war, showing that inner peace comes from God's presence even amid cothe Ministry
This scripture likely forms the spiritual foundation for the Shalom Prayer Group. The group's name and focus on prayer probably reflect a mission to help others encounter God as the source of true peace.
MISSION To raise a people who hunger for God's presence, intercede for families and nations, and demonstrate His peace in a troubled world, by: Establishing altars of prayer in homes as Gideon did, making every believer's dwelling place a sanctuary of worship. Equipping members with the Word of God and a lifestyle of consistent, fervent prayer. Building a community of believers who carry God's peace into every area of lifeβpersonal, family, and society.
VISION To see a generation that encounters God in prayer and intercession, which transforms ministers, pastors communities, and nations.
PRAYER AS FOUNDATION (Altar Lifestyle) We believe that prayer is not an activity but a lifestyle. Just as Gideon built an altar at Oprah, we commit to establishing personal and family altars where God's presence dwells daily (Judges 6:24). PEACE AS IDENTITY (Jehovah Shalom) We embrace that God Himself is our Peace. In a world of fear, anxiety, and conflict, we carry His shalomβwholeness, completeness, and well-beingβas our identity and witness to others (Judges 6:23; John 14:27). WORD AS AUTHORITY We stand firmly on the Scriptures as the final authority for faith and practice. The Word of God guides our prayers, shapes our character, and directs our decisions (2 Timothy 3:16-17). COMMUNITY AS FAMILY We are not just a prayer group but a spiritual family. We walk together in love, accountability, and mutual support, bearing one another's burdens and celebrating each other's victories (Romans 12:10; Galatians 6:2). INTERCESSION AS MANDATE We are called to stand in the gap for our families, churches, leaders, and nations. We believe that prayer changes things, and we intercede with passion, persistence, and faith (Ezekiel 22:30; 1 Timothy 2:1-2). HUMILITY AS POSTURE We approach God and others with humility, recognizing that we are nothing without Him. Like Gideon, who felt weak and small, we trust that God uses the humble to accomplish great things (James 4:6; Judges 6:15). WORSHIP AS RESPONSE We respond to God's goodness and faithfulness with heartfelt worship. Our prayers are saturated with praise, thanksgiving, and adoration, acknowledging that He alone is worthy (Psalm 95:6-7; Hebrews 13:15).
