BWEYOGERERE, UGANDA – In a powerful display of faith-driven community service, Watoto Church has contributed Shs38 million (approximately USD 10,000) towards the Kabaka's Floating Clinic Project, significantly boosting efforts to deliver healthcare to the isolated communities of the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria.

The donation was presented to the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, by Watoto Church Lead Pastor Julius Rwotlonyo during the historic thanksgiving service marking the 33rd coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II at Watoto Church's Bweyogerere campus.

The Kabaka's Floating Clinic Project is a vital Buganda Kingdom health initiative designed to bridge the healthcare gap for island residents who face significant challenges accessing mainland hospitals. The mobile clinic boat will serve as a lifeline, bringing essential medical services directly to these remote communities.

In his sermon, Pastor Rwotlonyo emphasized the spiritual significance of the occasion, stating, "To be thankful is good manners, it pleases God and magnifies God". He added that "thanksgiving attracts God's blessings" and noted that the church was honoured to support a cause that improves the lives of vulnerable communities.

Receiving the donation, Katikkiro Mayiga commended Watoto Church for organising what he described as "a wonderful and worthy prayer ceremony". He also delivered a stirring call for cultural preservation: "We must have courage to preserve and promote what defines us".

The thanksgiving service attracted an array of distinguished guests, including the Nnaabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda; Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who represented President Yoweri Museveni; and Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi. President Museveni, who contributed Shs 40 million towards the celebrations, praised the Kingdom's contribution to national development through public health and poverty reduction initiatives.

Although the Kabaka did not attend on his doctors' advice, his presence was felt throughout the ceremony as hundreds of worshippers gathered to honour his 33 years of leadership.
