Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Church Guide Uganda, a Christian media and directory platform operated by Church Guide Ministries, a programme of East African Gospel Registered, a faith-based organisation based in Kampala, Uganda.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, directory listings, mobile experience, and related services (together, the "Platform"). By visiting, registering on, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

To register a church, ministry, organisation, or Bible college profile, or to create an individual account, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age, or be a recognised representative of a listed church, ministry, or organisation. Minors between 13 and 17 may use the Platform only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep that information up to date.
• Be responsible for safeguarding your account password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us promptly at info@churchguide.co.ug if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

Only one account should be created per church, ministry, or organisation, unless you have been authorised by us to manage multiple listings on behalf of a denomination or network.

Church Guide Uganda exists to connect believers with churches, ministries, organisations, and Bible colleges that uphold the core teachings of the Christian faith. All listings submitted to the Platform are reviewed against our Gospel Standards Policy before publication.

• Listings must affirm foundational Christian doctrine, including the authority of Scripture, the deity of Jesus Christ, and the Trinity.
• Church Guide Uganda does not list or knowingly work with cult churches or any church, ministry, or leader that practises cult teaching. A "cult" for this purpose means any group that departs from foundational Christian doctrine, demands unquestioning loyalty to a leader in place of Scripture, isolates members from family and society, or uses spiritual authority to control or exploit followers.
• We reserve the right to decline, edit, suspend, or remove any listing that contains false or cult teaching, promotes financial exploitation under the guise of faith, or is fraudulent, misleading, or impersonates another organisation.
• We may edit submitted listing content for clarity, formatting, or accuracy, without changing its substantive meaning.
• Approval of a listing reflects that it has met our review standards at the time of publication; it is not an endorsement of every teaching, programme, or financial appeal made by that church or organisation thereafter. Listings are subject to ongoing review and may be removed if they are later found not to meet these standards.

When using Church Guide Uganda, you agree that you will not:

• Impersonate any church, ministry, leader, or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
• Submit false, defamatory, or misleading information about yourself or any listed organisation.
• Solicit donations, offerings, or payments from other users under false or fraudulent pretenses, or extort or pressure anyone into sending money online.
• Promote, operate, or be affiliated with a cult church or any group practising cult teaching, as described in Section 03.
• Post or upload content that promotes violence, hatred, immorality, or division contrary to biblical values.
• Scrape, copy, or republish directory data for resale or commercial redistribution without our written consent.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform.
• Use contact details obtained through the Platform to send unsolicited bulk marketing or spam.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including content removal, account suspension, or referral to law enforcement where conduct may be criminal.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the text, photos, and other material you submit for your church, ministry, or organisation profile, events, news, and blog posts ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Church Guide Uganda a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce, and promote that content on the Platform and across our official social media channels, for the purpose of operating and marketing the directory.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the User Content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

Our Content

The Church Guide Uganda name, logo, website design, compiled directory, and underlying software remain the property of Church Guide Ministries and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written permission.

Church Guide Uganda offers free and paid listing plans. Paid plans unlock additional visibility, features, and placement on the directory, as described on our registration page.

• Payment — Fees are payable in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) via the payment methods made available at checkout, including mobile money and bank transfer.
• Renewals — Paid plans run for the period stated at the time of purchase. We will send a renewal reminder before expiry; listings that are not renewed may be downgraded to a free plan or temporarily hidden after a grace period.
• Refunds — Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion in cases of demonstrable error on our part.
• Price changes — We may adjust our pricing from time to time. Any change will not affect a plan you have already paid for until your next renewal.

Church Guide Uganda may contain links to external websites, church social media pages, YouTube channels, and ministry resources. These third-party sites are independently operated and are not controlled by us.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party website, and including a link does not constitute our endorsement of it. Any dealings you have with a listed church, ministry, or organisation — including donations, event attendance, or enrolment — are strictly between you and that organisation.

Church Guide Uganda is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Listing information is supplied by the churches, ministries, and organisations themselves, and while listings are reviewed against our Gospel Standards Policy, we do not guarantee the ongoing accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing, event, or news item published on the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Uganda, Church Guide Ministries, East African Gospel Registered, and their staff and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the Platform;
• Reliance on information contained in any listing, news item, event, or job post;
• The conduct, teachings, or financial dealings of any church, ministry, or organisation found through the Platform;
• Any interaction or transaction between you and another user or listed organisation.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under Ugandan law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Church Guide Uganda, Church Guide Ministries, and East African Gospel Registered from any claim, loss, or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your User Content, your use of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account or listing, without refund, where we reasonably believe these Terms or our Gospel Standards Policy have been violated.

You may close your account and request removal of your listing at any time by contacting us at info@churchguide.co.ug. We will process such requests within 14 working days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts.

As a Christian platform, we encourage parties to first seek to resolve any disagreement directly and in good faith before pursuing formal proceedings.

Church Guide Uganda reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page;
• Notify registered users by email where the changes materially affect their rights or obligations.

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
